Some of you may be aware that I have painted up a force of US Airborne (guide here) and I have been looking forward to fielding them in the biggest Sydney event of the year being MOAB in October. I have been dithering around on listing for awhile now and was almost settled on an all vet Paratrooper force however was just not happy with it. A few days ago I decided to go for something different and field a regular Gilder force instead.

Bolt Action - Old Man Morin's Commonwealth Indian Army Showcase

It is Australia Day week Down Under and that, for countless war-gamers, means one thing. The pilgrimage to Canberra and Cancon! While just about everyone else in the Bolt Action Alliance crew is off playing for fun and glory in this year's, 42-player event, I am holding down the fort back in Melbourne town. As this was the army that won last year's event, I thought it would be appropriate to pull it out for a few army showcase pictures.  

The infantry in the army was painted by The LRDG's own phenomenally talented Warlord Tobu many moons ago. The models themselves are a combination of the Artisan Designs Indian range and Warlord Games miniatures (using their optional Sikh heads sprue). The Gurkha Squad is from the Assault Group's Britain in the East Range. Though my infantry come from a fairly diverse range of companies, the models really come together as one coherent force once painted and based. I painted the vehicle and artillery models for this army and as the pictures appear I will mention which model ranges they were pillaged from to find the right match for this project.

Bolt Action - Wintercon 2015 part 1: The French

Ever heard of a French force winning a Bolt Action event? It's not often you'll see the French up there, rubbing shoulders with the major powers like the US and Soviets. But here in Australia we recently had a two day double event, Wintercon 2015. Day 1 was 'Early War' themed, which allowed the French to really shine, eventually taking out the top spot with 'best minor power' and 'best general'. It wasn't an easy victory though...game one I faced off against the Blitzkrieg master himself, Patch, with his lovely Germans.  To throw in front of the advancing Germans I took the disposable heroes of the French Foreign Legion.

Bolt Action - French army project: 1250 point list

Bolt Action - Review: Artizan Designs Devil's Brigade
