Give Cash! Head on over to the WWPD4Vets site and hit the DONATE button and select your charity. We suggest $1, $3 or $5 per hour of games played. Our goal is to reach $3,000 in cash donations to the Wounded Warrior Project. Other charities are an option for folks outside the US.

Hey gang, Matt Varnish back with the next installment of my DAK Projekt. Now that we know Historicon 2014 is Mid War, I have settled on a nice list, which sadly does not use any of the models I had already painted! Lets dive straight in.
As you can see, it is armored cars supported by anti-tank assets, some Nebs and the FK-36(r) in the artillery/anti tank role. 32 inch range, 2 shot, AT 10 in an artillery slot? Bring on the captured Russian guns!
I had an FTX weekend recently, and got in a pick up game of Bolt Action with my buddy Andy. We wanted to play with the big toys, so we each ran one armored and one infantry platoon, in a modified version of the second mission Jud had for tank battles at Cold Wars. It used three objectives, strung out down the diagonal center line. At Cold Wars, forces came on within 12" of opposing table corners, but we adjusted this to 24". It worked really well, and we will get the mission up soon so everyone can enjoy it.
You might not have noticed but there have been a few changes
over at Wargaming Shirts.
First off we now have a U.K. which runs along the current
site at Wargaming Shirts UK which
is ran by myself, Gary Martin (big –gazza on most forums and a few criminal
databases). This new site allows us to
print and ship shirts directly from the U.S and U.K. This should help reduce delivery times and
costs to our international customers.
All designs will be available from both sites, so just pick the nearest
location to you and grab your shirt.
When I commenced planning my early war, Blitzkrieg, German army, one of the units that drew my attention the most was the motorbike troops - commonly known by the German name of Kradschutzen. These motorbike troops are so iconic to that early war period that I had to base my army around them, and one thing that I had noticed was that I had yet to face an opponent that was using them; certainly I had not seen them in the several tournaments I had attended.
Here we have another battle between Eric and John Sulek's Fate of the Nation Forces for Flames of War's new Arab Israeli line. This time we decide to do 1700 points and the Mission is Hold the Line. The Israelis will be defending this time so this should be different from our previous battles where the Jordanians just hide from long range tank shots. It will be good to have the whole force of Jordanians on the table together.
John's Israeli tank force is only 5 platoons, pretty rough in a half on half off scenario like Hold the Line.
From time to time, we all face the player that deploys the entirety of his or her forces in a horizontal line across the length of the table, thereby spreading his or herself thin and guaranteeing a complete inability to focus power (dice, specifically) from multiple units onto a single target. The inability to throw maximum dice at minimum targets can often lead to maximum defeat in a dice game; and this is, of course, an error no professional BARbarian would ever commit. Right?
This time around the boys decide to try something novel: Sobriety!
Join Dave'O'War, The Mouth of Madness and Old Man Morin as they break down the highlights of Bradcon 2014 in all the musical details. Italians get more discussion and the boys look at the uses of howitzers VS mortars. The lads also take a long, hard look at Bob Emmerson's resin vehicle range, and do a little compare and contrast with the newest and best from Warlord and Company B. Come aboard mates and see what the LRDG are like... without booze!?!
In Act I, the guys welcome Steven back and jump right into a recap of recent activity. The guys discuss the upcoming WWPD4Vets event and the next WWPD Global Campaign - Italy! There is also some brief discussion on the new WWPD Rankings system.
In Act II, the guys talk more detail about Fortress Italy and Road to Rome, including opinions on top lists. The guys - again - predict what will be seen at the next tournament, and will most assuredly be wrong! Next, Eric talks a bit about running historical scenarios.
For Act III, Eric talks about how to customize your tournament, and encourages TOs to make adjustments to enhance the fun. We close this episode out with Commonly Forgotten rules.
