Recently I had the pleasure of picking up some new dice for one of my older Bolt Action armies, my brave Canadian Paras. I picked them up from an Australian company, Dice of War while I was at Cancon, Australia's largest gaming convention. Adam, the owner of Dice of War, was not only playing in the Flames of War tournament but was also a sponsor of both the Bolt Action and Flames of War events at Cancon. These dice are great for any WW2 game system, from Bolt Action to Flames of War to all the others in between.
These dice are 16mm, which is one of the more common sizes for D6s and the same size as your Bolt Action order dice. They have an icon on the '6' facing and the range of available designs is impressive. On top of that Adam is always adding more to the range. The available designs currently include a bunch of different SS units, Finnish, Japanese, Desert Rats, British Airborne, Australian, Chinese, New Zealander and Soviet dice, among many others. You can see the full range below.
They come in sets of 16 dice for AU$20, which is not a bad price to get a cool set of dice that match your army, especially when you can often get by in Bolt Action with 16 dice easily. The quality of both the die and the engraving itself are top-notch and they roll perfectly. A few other members of the BAA crew have picked up their own sets.
Canadian approved.
Upcoming designs include a generic Fallschirmjager one, the Herman Goering Division, Das Reich, American Armoured Divisions, Free French and possibly Romanians. Although the dice design that I am the most excited by is none other then the upcoming Hungarian Parachute Battalion dice!
Well there is not much more I can say about dice, other then if you want some cool looking dice to accompany your force, you really should get out the range over at Dice of War. You won't be disappointed!
