Recently Wartime Miniatures here in Australian have released a range of Australian Soldiers, commonly known as Diggers, in 28mm scale. These miniatures are themed on the Diggers who fought the Kokoda campaign in 1942, a campaign that saw the cessation of the Japanese advance southwards and the start of the withdrawal back towards the home islands. For Japan this would be the closest they would get to mainland Australia.
