Star Wars Armada - Battle Report: Advanced Gunnery 180 points

We tried a 180 point game with a slight modification of the starter fleets listed here. The random mission we pulled was really interesting: Advanced Gunnery. The Imperials had slightly fewer points and so were the first player. The objective ships were the Victory II and the Nebulon B Escort Frigate. We're still playing on a 3'x3'.

Imperial Strikeforce (170)
Victory II Star Destroyer (85).
-Grand Moff Tarkin (38)
-Engineering Team (note: This is illegal! We're cheaters!) (5)
-Enhanced Armament (10)

Howlrunner (16)
TIE Squadron (8)
TIE Squadron (8)

Rebel Strikeforce (179)
Nebulon B Escort Frigate (57).
-General Dodonna (20)
-H9 Turbolasers (8)
CR90 Corvette B (39)
-Dodonna's Pride (6)
-Defense Liason (3)

Luke Skywalker (20)
X-Wing Squadron (13)
X-Wing Squadron (13)

The station was very conveniently right in front of the Rebels!

The Corvette "Dodonna's Pride" sets up on the flank and is already at max speed.

The Nebulon B advances slowly on the station.

X-Wings move forward to intercept TIEs inbound for the Corvette.

The Corvette speeds up along the extreme flank!

X-Wings and the Nebulon B hammer away at the Star Destroyer. The Neb B gets to fire away twice with its forward batteries!

The Star Destroyer takes massive damage as it bullies its way on to the station.

The Corvette races in from the rear, pummeling the Star Destroyer in the engines!

With massive internal damage the Star Destroyer goes down.

Post Game Thoughts: Wow! That Objective actually really favored the rebels here- I was able to fire from the Nebulon B's front arc twice each activation, while the Star Destroyer never really was able to capitalize on that. X-Wings and Luke Skywalker were instrumental in bringing down that Star Destroyer, constantly nipping at it. The TIEs shot up the Corvette a bit, but were mostly ineffectual. We figured as much, but it's always worth experimenting this early in a game!
