Star Wars Armada - Battle Report: Fleet Ambush!

Andrew and I were able to get another Armada game in - still using one core set so we're setting up on a 3'x3' board. We again randomly drew an objective: "Fleet Ambush". Since Andrew had lower points, he elected to give me Initiative. I chose to put the CR-90 in the ambush zone. I also put all 3 X-Wing squadrons with him (I think that's allowed? They were within range 1 or 2 of a friendly ship?). The ambush was sprung!

*Note- yes, Andrew should probably have bought another TIE squadron- but I think he was seeing how much of an advantage having fewer points was in setup? Either that, or I forgot an upgrade.

 The Nebulon B starts further back, ready to provide long range fire.

 Dodonna's Pride lurks in the debris escorted by Red squadron!

The Star Destroyer activates his squadrons! They zip forward and engage the X-Wings, taking one flight down!

The Corvette then takes two turns in a row (thanks to the Rebels having Initiative it gets to act last in one turn, and then first in the next turn) to avoid getting blasted. Speed 4 and a navigate makes that thing maneuverable as hell!

Luke jumps into the Furball on a Squadron activation to assist his comrades!

The Nebulon B moves in as the Star Destroyer banks to Starboard to try to catch the nimble Corvette.

And again the Nebulon B gets to activate twice thanks to the initiative, and pummels the Port side of the Star Destroyer!

The Nebulon B barrels into some asteroids, and exposes its side armor!

Rebel ships circling their prey. The Star Destroyer is taking massive damage, and driving over the debris field didn't help!

 The Corvette zips past the Star Destroyer after opening up. The Victory II is in a bad way-

Finally, the Nebulon B fires a volley into the engines of the Star Destroyer, which triggers a massive explosion in the reactor, and the lumbering vessel breaks apart!

With our 3rd "proper" game under our belt- we're still really enjoying it- but can't wait to add a second core! Next battle report we post here will feature 300 points!
