Bolt Action - New Units: T27 Xylophone and Rocket Jeep

The Calliope mount used on US Sherman tanks were not the only attempts by the US military to mount their M8 rocket system onto a mobile platform.  They also mounted them onto the backs of 2 1/2 ton trucks and even onto some Jeeps, although these were rarer.

The rules presently below are unofficial additional units to allow you to incorporate these unique units into your armies for games against friends.

They were used in both the European and the Pacific theatres, to saturate large areas, as the fin-stabilised rockets were inherently inaccurate.  There is even video available on youtube of both truck and jeep mounted launchers being used in the pacific.

T27 Xylophone Rocket Launcher
Cost: 64pts (Inexperienced), 80pts (Regular), 96pts (Veteran).
Weapons: one side-facing Xylophone multiple rocket launcher
Damage Value: 6+ (soft-skin)

Selectors: The T27 takes up the Self-Propelled Artillery slot in a platoon.  It can be taken in any theatre selector that allows the M4 Sherman T34 Calliope.

US Rocket Jeep
Cost: 56pts (Inexperienced), 70pts (Regular), 84pts (Veteran).
Weapons: one forward-facing M8 multiple rocket launcher
Damage Value: 6+ (soft-skin)
Special Rules:
Massive Strain: Whenever the Rocket Jeep fires, it suffers D3 pin markers due to the strain placed on the light vehicle.

Selectors: The Rocket Jeep takes up the Self-Propelled Artillery slot in a platoon.  It can be taken in any theatre selector that allows the M4 Sherman T34 Calliope.

Old Man Morin is currently converting up a T27 Xylophone truck and I am keen to make one of the rocket jeeps, of which I have already seen a conversion out there on a fellow blog site.  Are there any other cool unique units you'd like to see added to Bolt Action?  Or have you made you own rocket truck/jeep?  If so, come let us know on the forums.
