Rural fencing is a simple way to enhance the battlefields your miniatures wage war on. While there are commercial fences readily available to order from a variety of well know and reputable manufactures, it is easy and cheap to make your own from scratch from items you have laying around your house and yard.
Supplies:
Used or new tongue depressors
Sticks from your yard
Hobby knife
Superglue
White glue
Flocking of your choice
Brown paint
Step 1: Find used or new tongue depressors for bases and paint them brown. I used old tongue depressors previously used for painting figures.
Step 2: Cut sticks into 3/4 inch sections with your hobby knife. These will be used as uprights.
Step 3: Cut more sticks various length. I cut these sticks between half the length and the full length of the tongue depressors with a hobby knife. These will be used to form the fencing.
Step 4: Glue six uprights on the tongue depressor in pairs. One set on either end and one set in the middle.
Step 5: Fill the area between the uprights with fencing and glue into place.
Step 6: Apply white glue and flock the base.
Repeat until you have the desired number of fences.
It takes about 10 minutes to build three sections of fence. In an hour you will have enough fences built for an entire Russian village.
