Battlefield in a Box Terrain: Craters (BB14)

As you all know, I am a huge fan of painted terrain.  I just hate making terrain for some reason!  In general, the Battlefield in a box line has scored high marks with me!  So let's take a look at these craters, shall we?

The box contents.
2nd layer.
The bottom *note there is a 6th crater underneath what's shown in the box!

5 of the 6 craters.  I almost missed the one at the very bottom of the box!  Alright let's see how they look on the board.

Just a jagdpanther mindin' his business.

Hetzers gonna hetz.

argggh!! Massive bombardment!

Leaving the ground a smoking ruin.

Infantry for scale.
So what do you think?  How do they look?  I think they're okay.  $29 for 6 craters, or about $5 each.  Now, as I've said, I'm lazy and hate painting my own terrain.  So for the cost of 2 and a half Battlefront tanks, how are these 6 craters value-wise?  I think they're okay, but not a stellar deal.  They look pretty good, they're painted pretty good, but they just don't scream "this is an amazing deal!" like the Russian church or train station does.

But I think part of that is just that there's so much variety available in the Battlefield in a Box line, that this box set is much more "niche" than, say, some trees.  To add some additional flavor to a battlefield, these fit the bill, but that being said they aren't a "must have" like a lot of the other line.  But with the option for roads, train tracks, fields, houses, hills, escarpments, woods, and rivers already available, this is a great way to spice up a battlefield.

In conclusion, a solid effort, a pretty good value, and a good addition to the Battlefield in a Box line.  Not necessarily a "must have" like some of the other offerings, but worth having on the table!
